A well-written exploration of a woman’s coming to terms with herself, her desires, the choices she’s made and her God. Highly recommended for those who like their prose finely wrought. Excellent.

Worth it.
This love story/crime story is a bit long but well worth it. Life in London in the early 1920’s following the Great War comes to life as a war widow and her daughter rent out rooms in their upstairs in order to make ends meet. The daughter falls in love, desperation leads to murder and, eventually, a trial at the Old Bailey. You’ll remember this one.
