Altec Lansing iM227 Orbit MP3 Speaker
May 04, 2017
With all the great features of Bluetooth without the terrible sound of Bluetooth
Alot of Bluetooth speakers this size have to exaggerate the bass and remove good frequency. This has a cord that carries HQ sound without compression - of course depends on the source material but this is where this product shines... the ORBIT. Altec usually is synonymous with good quality build and nice neutral audio soundstage, but like JBL there are alot of duds by the company in the computer speaker market. It looks like a high end tweeter ripped out of a speaker array and has a weight that is nice and stable with some mixed metal and plastic components. My only gripe is the short cable to 1/8" jack but you can always buy a $1.00 extension if needed. I wonder if that's to keep battery life longer. Monopod speaker so you're not going to get stereo but for outdoors that hardly matters and that's usually where I use this. If music is mixed well, it will sound fabulous on this. It can push a good level of sound from the normal output of samsung phone or ipod touch, loud enough to get attention from 25 meters away . Takes 3 AAA batteries. Oh and no crappy blue tooth sound and connection problems. Sadly I think they are discontinued. Plug in and go. A+
Realistic 2-Speed Micro-12 14-1041 Recorder

Dependable 2 speed rugged recording and playback
This micro cassette recorder / player MICRO-12 once sold at Radio Shack under Realistic brand is highly recommended for it's economy of price currently, it's availability, it's rugged heavy duty plastic case (not china quality) and chunky functional buttons. It fits in the back pocket but is not light weight. It has a very sensitive capsule microphone which picks up very faint sounds and good compression for over modulated sounds (no level controls) . The bonus is the inclusion of high quality 1/8" input for optional microphone remote. 1/8" output as well with both sockets being very high quality. It may appear like a toy but it's a dependable field recorder. The 2 Speed switch is a real treat, easily extend a tape length if you're not worried about quality. It's recommended to replace the internal rubber belt due to the age of these. I had used mine for a few weeks when I found my unit in 2017 new in box at goodwill, and the rubber belt was OK but had an impression in it from sitting so long and caused much wow in the tape playback. I replaced the belt and it was not an easy task as the cogs are under the circuit board and some wires have to be unsoldered to lift board to an angle to remove the belt. A quality product that works as advertised.
Audio Technica AT150MLX Audiophile Turntable Cartridge With OEM Stylus In Box
Apr 22, 2017
We need to petition AT to manufacture these again...
I have most At150 stylus and cartridge combinations. The recent 'upgrade' by AT to remove the MLX from production is a mistake as it is one of the nicest if not the best of the line (that was avaiilable) The 150Sa is no slouch but is a clear downgrade while they boost the price. Anyways my review is of the 150mlx and I give it top marks. Having come from MC carts, this satisfied a bridge between both worlds of MM and MC with the ease of use of MM.
