Heavy Duty or Street/Strip Mode?
1 of 1 found this helpful Fast/easy installation. If you can change trans fluid, you can do this in about 3 hours. The directions were good, except for the diagram of how to position the six check balls on the new separator plate (the most critical part). The drawing is atrocious. Take your time and figure it out. It's awful.
I debated on which shift "mode" to set it up for. I decided on the milder "heavy duty" mode vs the "street/strip" mode. My car is a low miles, all original big block/400TH '71 Monte Carlo and I didn't want a crazy firm shift. The shift I got is very positive and precise but not neck snapping, tire barking, firm. If I had a driver or a street car that I'm going to drive the wheels off, I'd opt for the "street/strip" mode.
