Samsung Xpress C460FW Color Laser - Fax / copier / printer / scanner
May 24, 2016
Lots of features, good quality, great for home use
The printer does it's basic functions well - Print quality is good but fairly slow, copying works just as you'd expect and the ADF is handy to have. On Windows, Samsung has a handy app that makes working with the printer and scanning via either USB or over the network easy and seamless. At the same time and as usual, it's drivers & software that manufacturers make way too complicated and proprietary. For whatever reason Windows recognizes the printer even over a network but won't grab and install the drivers itself, you have to go download/install them from Samsung's site - which isn't exactly straightforward on what files are what. They list many different print drivers without being clear on what is what, rather than having a simple package with all of the latest necessary files in one place. You can't fault them on support, they have plenty of downloads/manuals/firmware/drivers available, but for the average use it's a little overly complex. The paper drawer is small and can't hold very much; the output tray is about the same. But for average home use where you aren't doing a lot of volume, it's fine and there really isn't need for anything more. Overall the printer is a great value, prints well, easy setup over a network, and has more features than is probably necessary. It's too bad you have to buy the fax model to get a document feeder, but that's a small upgrade.
3/4" Wood Gluing Pipe Clamp Set Heavy Duty PRO Woodworking Cast Iron New FOUR
Jan 24, 2017
You get what you pay for.
These are cheap clamps, and they work, but expect low quality. The internal threads for screwing onto 3/4" pipe are very poorly machined, if they are machined at all - They may actually be cast. Three of the four clamps I received took an amazing amount of effort to get started and thread onto a piece of pipe. A 3/4" pipe tap might be able to clean them up first but that's not exactly common to have around the house. All but one threaded on fairly crooked as well (and no, they weren't cross-threading, that's just how they are cast). Fortunately the clamping mechanism is cast sloppily enough that the pads have enough play to center themselves. I have different lengths of pipe that I switch clamps between when I need to do something extra wide, but won't be moving these ends around...Would rather buy new ones then have to work these again. Learned after the fact: Turns out you can buy brand name clamp ends at the big blue hardware store for only about $4 more a piece - The frustration of trying to screw these onto a pipe and then having them end up all wonky is easily worth the couple of extra dollars. But if you are willing to put up with it, these will clamp.

New Arrowhead PK8006 Replacement Stem for 6-Inch 450 and 480 Series FF Hydrants
May 30, 2017
Solved my problem with a little tweaking
Worked great to repair my faucet without having to replace it. Really nice to be able to do that. To work in my faucet (about 12 years old, 2005 or so) I had to file the end piece just slightly to fit in the pipe. Apparently this is required on some but it's not clear to know until you fit it. Not a big deal, just do all for points evenly and keep it fitting square. Working great so far.
