Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two: A Complete Illustrated Director..
    Sep 23, 2020
Great reference but somewhat hard to read and poor photos.
Reference books can be very polarizing - since the goal is to get as much information in as possible, style and readability are not the key publishing targets. This book is indeed jammed full of details on German armor in WWII. Every variation is at least mentioned for every vehicle. The black and white photography is sometimes poor, but these are archival photos - there are a few photos from tank museums that are much nicer. The author/publisher perhaps should have used some digital techniques to enhance them in many cases. Organization is weird - I would have organized by type - heavy tank, medium, etc, and then perhaps in chronological order. It's very hard in my opinion to read this reference. I would also have liked to have seen a more useful page layout and consistency in the layout of information provided (even if not all information was always available). These authors are likely very old or have passed, but a modern version of this could be wonderful. In readability, organization and photos, the Forty/Livesey book is MUCH better. In sheer content on German armor of WWII, this book is terrific. If you want as much information as possible about Germans WWII armor, this is it. If you want a nice book that's enjoyable to read and look at, this is not it (Forty/Livesey book is better).
ARTISAN & ARTIST* LMB-M10 (for Leica M10/M10-P) BLACK LEATHER HALF CASE NEW
    Nov 30, 2020
    Very nice, high-quality half-case.
Very well made, high quality materials, and looks great. Leather smells terrific as a bonus. I have a silver M10-P and this black half case perfectly compliments the looks. Small grip on the front helps more than you would think. The loops around the lugs snap into place and will provide a measure of protection against abrasion by straps. All around a very high quality product.
    LEICA APO-SUMMICRON-SL 35MM F/2 ASPH. LENS (#11184)
    Sep 25, 2024
    Superb lens in every respect.
All Leica lenses are expensive. Finding a used one in excellent condition takes the sting out of the purchase. All of the Leica SL APO lenses are nearly peerless. The 35 APO is perhaps the best, but I don't think differences between the APO SLs are noticeable. All of them have corner to corner sharpness at ANY aperture - truly Incredible sharpness across the frame. You've probably read that, but it's true. I am using my APO lenses on a Leica SL3 body at present and the images are technically near perfect. So the short is the APOs will challenge you as a photographer and you absolutely will not be able to blame the lens for picture issues :) Build quality is typical Leica. And for the SL lenses, they are devoid of any switches or buttons. You get a focus ring and that's it. All of the Leica prime SL APO lenses are the same in appearance and handling. They match the lines and aesthetic of the SL bodies which I like. Balance on any SL body is terrific and they are much smaller than the SL zooms. My only nitpicks are 1) I'd love to have an aperture ring on the lens as I'm old and grew up with them. But I can live without it. 2) The hood is not as grotesque as the one for the 24-90, but it's still large and hideous. The summary is the lens is spectacular and any SL user must have at least one of the SL APO primes. For those of you who use the Leica M lenses via the M Adapter L, you're missing out. I'll say it - the SL APO lenses are superior to the M equivalents. Plus you get autofocus.
