Pricey, Average quality, but It's your only choice
This lock can only be installed on the opening end of the gate with the command cable running along the gate to the gate's hinge post and thence to the control box. In my case the control box was on the opening side of the gate which required installing an underground conduit to take the cable back to the control box.
Unfortunately, the Mighty Mule 560 can only use this type of gate lock due to the design of the gate control panel. Unlike most gate operators which can work with a magnetic lock that can be mounted on the receiving gate post, the MM control panel design cannot be made to control a magnetic lock.
It was not possible to answer the three rating questions because they were a poor fit to the design problems. My answers are as follows:
1. I don't recommend it but it is the only lock that works with the gate.
2. No, but it's the only offering that works.
3. It's of medium quality and I question whether the shielding of the solenoid is adequate for stormy weather.
