This is exactly how it is described. If you need to expand the WiFi in your home because your router isn't doing the job AND you want to have a smart home hub, this is the product for you. However, at this price point, if you only need one or the other, buy individual products to accomplish those tasks.
Set up is extremely simple, using the Smartthings app. It's mostly plug-and-play. The only suggestion I have is to go ahead and plug in the main hub, set it up, then in the same place, go ahead and plug in the other two and set those up too, before placing them around your home. I had to bring the secondary hubs back to the main hub to get them connected.
Shy of that, this is a good system. Coverage is good, signal is about 50% better with the mesh WiFi than just one router. Don't forget, this ONLY works with ZigBee and ZWave protocols, but it does work very well with Alexa.
