Very compact, simple, effective thermal imaging
3 of 3 found this helpful I bought this to aid in hunting when retrieving deer that were shot and now must be found. While I have not had the opportunity to do this yet I have had people conceal themselves and while invisible to the eye they were obvious to the Seek. I heated ketchup to 100F to simulate a blood trail on a gravel road and that was able to be seen also for about 10-15 minutes on a summer night. Overall very pleased. You should have reasonable expectations, this is not a 5-10K military device. Don't expect detail images like a ScyFy movie. It finds people and my cat. I have no doubt it will find deer and save me hours of upset and exhaustion doing so. Included hard case is excellent and the device adds no more weight to my pack than a pack of gum.

better than a regular bolt for decocking
1 of 1 found this helpful Your supposed to shoot this into "soft ground" to decock the xbow. I shot it into a foam block target and the rubber part above the point penetrated all the way thru the block tearing a huge hole in it, so don't do that! When the weather is warm and there is no snow perhaps you can find soft ground where you can shoot and be sure it wont ricochet off a stone or frozen ground. Otherwise shoot at a folded up scrap nylon tarp laid on the ground to limit penetration and ricochet.

Garmin GPSMAP® 76S
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a great device! It is my first GPS & reasonably easy to learn to use. I wanted a GPS for hunting, hiking, & fishing. If you can learn to push the "on" button when you enter the woods (or the water), this device will leave a trail of "breadcrumbs" on the Map page that you can easily follow to get yourself back out. Period. It's that easy! Plus at any time you can measure how far it is to get back to where you started or to other locations (marked "waypoints") along your route. On my first day using this I was able to walk back to within a few yards of tree stand locations I had marked on the way in. I use it on the highway with a vent mount that keeps it high on my dash within easy view & reach & still gets perfect satellite reception without any external antennae. I can zoom in or out to view a map of the highway ahead. On the trail I use it in a protective neoprene carrier with a clear plastic window that allows you to use it without taking it out of the case. The case allows me several options in how to attach it to me. Both accessories are about perfect. It does not come pre-loaded with small local road detail & also lacks what I think are pretty big bodies of water (like the entire Amawalk reservoir here in NY). I could probably resolve the road map detail issues by adding appropriate software, but I bought it for the woods anyway. It is not a very good unit if your primary use will be in the car, but it is great if you will be on foot. Solidly built & I was able to use it with gloves on in below freezing weather. That's all I need
