Washington's General : Nathanael Greene and the Triumph of the Am

Great Book

Excellent biography of a fighting general and a very good synopsis of the revolution. The book is clearly written to tell General Greene's fascinating story interwoven with a concise description of the war in general. One of the best one-volume histories I have read. If you read only one book on the revolutionary war may I suggest this be the one.

Valuable study of the ACW in the West

Well written, concise history of ACW in the west. The maps are first rate, clear, complete and easy to interpret. The thing I like about Mr. Wodworth's books is how he presents the proper level of detail. This is an overview of the campaign and as such he does not go into excruciating details on troop movements and character biography. As he points out, there are other books that provide the minute details of the actions. He weaves brief background info into the flow of the volume. Well done Sir. It is history that reads like a well written novel.

Lots of bang for the buck

Dark, dark, dark. The good guys don't always win. Written in the style of Elmor Lenard, CJ Box and James Lee Burke. Great characters and crisp writing. I'm a fan.
