Not Well Engineered Design

Well, the mount is designed so that on a .760 wide 1911 frame the dot is .045 off center. Need more material on mount face. Had to make a precision shim to get it right. A serindipity mounts ok with #5 screws, why did they use #8? The bolt holes are countersunk with a wieird angle countersink, does not match standard countersunk screws. After I countersunk the holes with a standard countersink, I lost the anodizing, and had to paint it. Otherwise, it works.
