Much better than I anticipated
I rarely write reviews, even when prompted, but this little tamper is absolutely excellent. It is so well made, quite heavy and solid, and does a fantastic job. A good tamper is essential for making a great cup of espresso or cappucino, as the grounds need to be compacted to hold the water long enough to get a full flavor extraction. The tamper that comes with most espresso makers, even expensive ones, are pathetic, usually plastic, and they bend and break with even moderate pressure. You could rest a corner of your house on this baby, it's that solid. The finish is beautiful, and it looks much more expensive than it is. I seriously considered buying another one, keeping it in a sock, as a weapon. Then I realized if you ever hit someone with it, you would likely kill them, and who wants to go to prison for hitting someone with a coffee tamper in a sock? All in all, this was my favorite inexpensive purchase for all of 2017, I could not recommend it any higher.
