Keeping the Old Nokia Going to Avoid the Complexity of a Modern Phone
This repair was accomplished with unexpected ease for an amateur. Just remove the phone back, then the battery & split the rest of the casing into its separate sections so as to give access to the charging port. The old and duff point was removed carefully with a fine instrument screw driver so as not to damage the fine wire contacts in the phone. Then put in the new port similarly, carefully reassemble all the parts and the job's done.
