Happily mobile but careful around corners!
I have a broken foot bone on which I cannot bear any weight. With the knee walker, I'm able to be up with my good foot and leg to get around my small apartment. It does need room to make very wide turns. I'm constantly having to stop and slide the front wheels sideways into position or use my knee that's on the walker to push the back end sideways into position when I'm unable to get around a corner. In my small space, I'm constantly sliding the front and back wheels to get around corners or turn around. I'm not sure this would be advised on carpet. I've had to be very careful not to lose my balance and fall while doing this on hardwood floors. The knee walker is of good quality. It feels very stable, the wheels don't skid or slide on my hardwood floor unless I intentionally take my weight off to reposition it as described above. I feel safe using it after getting used to sliding it around corners. The only assembly it needed was to unfold the vertical bar with the handles. This required no tools. I find the basket to be very handy allowing my hands to be on the handles and let the basket carry a book, small items, a hot or cold drink (with lid) or a late night snack ;) I'm very happy with the quality, price and mobility it enables. The biggest drawback is that it needs to make very wide turns. This may make it potentially unsafe on carpet that would prevent you from sliding the wheels sideways to get around corners. This is likely true of any knee walker, not just this one. Allowing tighter turns would make the knee walker prone to falling. Sliding it around corners isn't much safer. I hope someone in the design department is looking into this :)
