Reliable, Solid Honda Quality

After doing lots of research, including a thorough review of Consumer Reports, I decided on the Honda Civic. I bought a 2005 Civic EX Special Edition with automatic transmission. I found one with only 9,000 miles on Ebay Motors, for sale by a Honda dealer (Pompano Honda) - so it was a certified vehicle, with the extended HondaCare warranty. The buying experience was really terrific and I was very pleased with my purchase and got treated with respect & courtesy. I flew down to Ft. Lauderdale to pick up the car and drove it about 650 miles back home. I've been driving the car for about 2 weeks now and I couldn't be happier with the car. It has a supple ride, peppy engine, smooth-shifting automatic, and all the bells & whistles/creature features you could ask for. The build quality is top-notch: no gaps outside or in, the interior is quiet and rattle-free. There is no hard plastic on the dash, nor are there any sharp corners or unsightly gaps or seams. The 1.7 liter VTEC engine is extraordinarily quiet for a 4-cylinder - at idle it's nearly vibration-free. I am averaging 33 MPG in city driving. Freeway driving yields well over 40 MPG - in this age of $4/gallon gas it is just what I need. The ride is smooth yet the car is agile and eager to change lanes and take corners. The stock sound system is superb and I really enjoy the in-dash 6 CD changer with auxiliary input jack. The seats are very comfortable - my girlfriend said she wouldn't mind driving across the country in the car. Finding a comfortable driving position is easy with the tilt steering and drivers seat height adjustment. After a 10-hour road trip, my back did not hurt at all. The controls are simple, logically configured and very intuitive. The AC is nice and cold, and I appreciate that the car has a cabin air filter. If you keep the climate system on recirculate, it does a great job at keeping out smoke and odors. This is my first Honda vehicle, and it certainly won't be my last - their vehicles really do live up to the accolades. I am one happy Honda owner!
