Hawke 8x42 porro binoculars with miscollimation
The binoculars are rather poor in following specifications:
- miscollimated (the images of both barrels do not converge and do not overlap, unusable) and this is specimen dependent, if you are very lucky you may get a decent sample
- poor QC in china, none on the retailer part, you are throwing the dice here
- the eyepieces are small, wobbly rubber shields to select eye relief, very narrow field of view
- overall cheaply made (this is a bw11 from kunming optical factory)
- the good news is, the image is quite sharp, but with all other problems, this doesn't help much
- to sum it up: this are a cheap chinese wannabe binoculars (this only look like binoculars, far from quality of european counterparts, as my friend expressed himself: cheap chinese junk)
- my advice after trying this set of binoculars and spending too much: save some more money and get a nikon (akulon, action or if money allows get the action extreme)
