Very efficient condenser -- Dimroth type
1 of 1 found this helpful These are arguably more efficient than a Friedrichs condenser. There is far more surface area available for condensation, with multiple nested cold layers and many redundant drainage channels.
However, they are less tolerant of bumping/foaming, so it can be best to place them above a self-draining bump trap and/or chromatography bulb.
Be sure to run the coil in the direction that produces counterflow heat exchange.
I liked this design so much that I have in total now bought 4 of them in various sizes.

Can be used to make bleach
Mix with a concentrated solution of calcium hypochlorite bleaching powder and a dash of lye for stabilization cautiously using a water bath (look up video instructions) to make high concentration sodium hypochlorite bleach.
Note the reaction will produce a large amount of calcium carbonate gunk that you may need to dissolve back off your glassware with a reasonably strong hydrochloric acid solution, so try to have some of that or a reasonable substitute on hand in advance. Also be sure to store the bleach solution in a freezer or at least refrigerator for further stability.
I get so tired of arbitrary consumer product regulations making weak cleaning chemicals. I use 30% hydrogen peroxide instead of 3%. I intend to do similarly with sodium hypochlorite bleach.
