ONE OF A KIND...
Really, what's not to like..??..Part satire, part western, part James Bond of the Sixties era.....Robert Conrad and Ross Martin make a perfect team as secret agents in the Old West...Imaginative gadgets galore with an Old West flavor.....And Conrad,an stuntman in his own right, does most, if not all, his own stunts and convincingly too..In a way, this show was a real influence on MURDOCH MYSTERIES, although that show plays a little more seriously. But, nonetheless, THE WILD WILD WEST is a joy to beyond on so many levels you won't even notice that it's tongue is firmly, and earnestly, in it's cheek. For those of us who has seen this show way back when it was on TV,it brings back such fun memories. For those who have never seen it,it's timeless quality is a fun way to spend some time not near a computer. By all means, enjoy...

REDISCIVER THORNE SMITH
This is the second of Thorne Smith's TOPPER novels. Some may remember the films with Cary Grant and Roland Young or the TV series from the 50's. But the books were a lot more risque and daring in terms of conventions of the times along with a more free wheeling attitude toward marriage and sex. These were basically, in a matter of speaking, stories involving, among other things, swinging and a definite critical eye toward monogamy and all that it entails in causing unhappiness in the true spirit of happiness and emotional adventure. Smith writes about the playful side of life among the semi idle rich with large touches of fantasy to top off the frivolity with an unforgettable cast of characters. In today's world, he is an author who deserves, nay, demands to be re-discovered. He had a very short career, unfortunately, dying young ( he lived what he wrote, apparently), but, in his case, quality indeed surpassed quantity. Read some fun. Read some Thorne Smith.

THIRD SEASON FOR A GREAT SERIES DOES NOT DISAPPOINT ...
1 of 1 found this helpful Pivotal season for this fine series...The star, Edward Woodward, was ill for many episodes, yet the series was still able to continue with compelling stories and characters. That is the sign of a really well produced series. Kudos all around. I am happy to add to mu collection at such a nice price with really responsive service.
