Excellent quality replacement for a Potterton OEM board
2 of 2 found this helpful Why would you spend £180 - £220 for another Potterton OEM PCB with dry solder joints and electrolytic capacitors that are under-spec and fail?
That's right - you wouldn't if you could buy one with the same functional spec and good quality construction for £56.
I fitted it to a Potterton 100E (not in the list, but they also have 407677 boards) and it's pretty much plug-n-play. Turn off the power, take pictures on your phone of where the PCB wires go, gently prise the board off of the PCB support posts and disconnect the wires, refit in the reverse order.
One comment - the two white wires to the thermostat could be marked so you know which way around they go (but perhaps it doesn't matter?).
The old black plastic cover on the 407677 didn't fit the new board, but it doesn't really matter if it's installed without one (you won't find covers on the PCB's in your TV or laptop).
After refitting the boiler fired up straight away with a nice blue flame (and seems to be burning better than before - but that could be wishful thinking?),
At £56 it's almost worth having one as a spare?
