Boring Head poor quality
A few days ago I purchased ITEM ID:201062578733, the Unimat boring head. I have to say this item has the absolute worst finish I've ever seen on a tool. The body of the tool looks as if it was finished on a belt sander, or else machined with a very dull tool, and was obviously not done with any care for quality at all. The body appears to have been machined from hot rolled steel (HRS) and the mill scale is not fully removed as it should be. The end of the tool is just as rough and carelessly done as the o.d. In addition, the tool is not deburred properly and has lots of sharp edges.
The cutter furnished with the tool is just as poorly made ... you can see that the shank is finished on a belt sander by hand, and isn't even cylindrical, showing a pronounced taper and horrible finish as well.
One of the reasons I purchased this tool was the "made in USA" claim, but it looks like it was made in a suburb of Mumbai by a starving Indian. A middle school student could do better on his first metalworking project.

A good one
It has a nice finish, is well made, leaves a nice cut, and adjusts easily.
