Who need a Tormek!
I love it. Yes it makes a little noise but it doesn't cost $800. The wheel spins. The tub holds water. Duel ball bearing supported main shaft. You will need to fabricate a piece to use the Tormek leather honing wheel. The thread pitch and diameters are different. I used a metric bolt and just using the the threaded part cut to the proper length Then drilled and tapped to the proper size.
Great buy. $125 shipped to my door. You can cheap out with the WEN but will need a Tormek Truing & Dressing Tool and a cheapo two sided/duel grit stone for grading the wheel. I turn so the Tormek wood turning kit is a must. I chose this system to minimize the heat put into the steel while sharpening.

USE THIS KIT WITH YOUR WEN
I purchased a WEN for $125 shipped and I use this kit plus a Truing & Dressing jig. You will also need a duel grit stone so you can grade your wheel. You can cheap out with the grinder but you need these tools.
