Does what it says and quietly
2 of 2 found this helpful I got this pump back in July 2016 to replace a failing stock unit. I was starting to notice lean conditions at high rpms with the old stock pump. After I installed this unit I needed to trim fueling throughout the rpm range by quite a bit...so it definitely flows more than my stock unit. After almost 2 years is still more than enough for my fueling requirements and it is a plus it runs quietly as well.

Surprisingly good
I purchased mine almost a year ago. This may sound strange...getting a decent set of strings like dominants on this and makes a difference...but I have also noticed that I sounds better the more it was played over time. Unless I am playing "flat" the notes have a nice ringing/resonance to them now. It is not as powerful nor have the tone of my recently acquired 189 year old antique violin...but for what it is and the price I cannot fault it whatsoever.

Wonderful string set
First off, I do not know the make of my violin just that it is old, has an unusual bird's eye maple top, ivory nut and it came fitted with ancient gut strings when I won it in an auction. What I do know is for the last two years dominants have been my go to string set. They sound absolutely beautiful but I realized that they do lose that beauty of tone relatively quickly. My last set only lasting about a month before the sound degrade. After some research I decided to try these. After 2 days of playing in these strings came to life! They sounded decent when first fitted but give it 2 to 3 days of playing in and you will surely hear the difference. My research indicates that these should outlast the dominant strings, but time will tell. As far as tone goes they have greater projection than the dominants but they are not bright sounding. The silver D and G still have a warm velvety sound to them but they are louder now, win win. The E string "rings" on my violin right up to the higher positions. I have not noticed any whistling as yet on the E but I do have warchal Amber on hand just in case. The A string is about the same in tone as the dominant, like the other strings it projects more. I cannot say anything on the long-term playability of this set but I am extremely satisfied with them on my instrument after the initial break in so far. If you are trying them for the first time also, give them a couple of day...you will hear what I mean.
