looks great but won't last
Used it for touch up and chipped areas on my L lenses. I let them rest for 30 days after paining as it says, and the used the first one. In the touch up areas the new paint peels off like onion skin. Now you might think that I do not have experience with proper painting, but I do, as a model railroader I routinely use both solvent based and water based paints to decorated the houses, make model locomotive look weathered and paint the in the color of the railroad and era of my choice. The areas that I did touch up on my 100-400 were properly prepped, yet all the areas failed within a week.
use canons original "white" paint, that will last.

Cheep way into DCC, easy for Kids to learn
This is a full function controller This unit a connect box and the power supply is all you need to get started on DCC. Marklin doesn't advertise that it does DCC but you can use it for turn outs and for DCC locomotives, When a friend told me I said NO WAY but it does and it is easier to remember the buttons than on a Digitracks controller where you have to memorize which dot on the screen means what.
This is the red button one that means Marklin but Trix makes a green button one that is exactly the same software. and Both do DCC. All in all you should be able to get up and running with $175 (used)
Does it have enough Power : Yup you can run a 1 scale Loco on it.
Will it do DCC for n scale: Yup Minitrix is N scale and the green button one is sold with their starter sets.
Is it easy to read: Yup you can even see in the Dark because it is backlit.
Is it durable: Yup it is Plastic but having dropped it several times mine just keeps on working
Where is it made: Germany.

Marklin : German quality for people that want to run trains rather than fix trains
A great model with great detail and reliable function
