No more buying bottled water
1 of 1 found this helpful We have a well that is full of rust, sediment and smells like rotten eggs. Been getting worse over the years. Been buying bottled water for many many now, that gets old carrying those jugs every week. Decided I'd try one of these RO kits as the price of these systems has dropped so much over the years. I couldn't be happier with the results. The water this system is producing is every bit as good as the best bottled water you can buy, probably better actually. I elected to install my system in our basement instead of under the sink. Figured it'd be a heck of a lot easier to service the filters when the time comes. I just ran a pipe back to the kitchen, same end result. One thing you may want to consider adding to this kit is a Permeate Pump. If you are on a well as we are it will help your system a lot. The pumps cost about $50 and will save you up to 80% of your waste water production and your filter will be about twice as fast, at least mine is. All depends on your water pressure etc. You might wanna do a few searches on the pump and how RO systems work and read up on what they help out with. Also one very important step is follow the startup instructions and flush those new filters real well. If you don't your waters gonna taste nasty. I found I needed to get about 20 gallons (double what they recommended) thru the system before that water taste was as expected. Those new Alkaline cartridges can make that water taste bad till they're fully flushed at startup. My family is very pleased with the water quality of this system. We've gotten very good results from some very nasty rusty smelly water. I can't recommend these systems enough.
