Excellent and very simple idea.
You need 1 set per axle really. But easy to use and adjust along the rail. I use a spare length of track and fix it to a more stable block of wood with a couple of screwed in bolts and thumb nuts between the sleepers at either end just to tie down the track. I've soldered a 'loom' to the rail which I then attach to a speed controller (you can use your existing layout controller). You do need to be able to easilly separate the track from the wood (hense the thumb nuts) as you will need to adjust the position of each set of rollers depending on the loco you are testing.
Great to help locate poor pick up connections and wobbly wheels.
I'm sure the traditional guagemaster rolling roads have superior features, but they are very expensive and this does everything I want it to.
Although none of my locos are new, they are all old kit built or dublo/wrenn (use a crocodile clip to the centre pick up on 3 rail locos) I'm sure this is great to run in a new loco.
