Radio Shack High Gain Signal Amplifier Antenna Mounted Model #1500526

Great amp but sensitive to lightening

The adjustable gain is very necessary in remote locations. I receive two stations whose signal will break up if the gain is too low or too high; it has to be set just right. This amplifier works well, but the "outdoor" amp is sensitive to lightening strikes. This is the 7th amp I've had to buy over a 20 year period. If lightening strikes within about a quarter mile of my house and I have not disconnected my antenna first, then the outdoor amp will cease to work on 2 or 3 of the channels I receive. By the way, I properly installed a lightening surge protector between the antenna and outdoor amp, but it did not completely solve the problem. If you never get lightening ground strikes where you live, then you have nothing to worry about with this amp, but if you do get them, be careful.

Quality used remote

Great used remote. Like-new Magnavox OEM device. I first made the mistake of buying from a place called New Remotes Inc., which promised an original new remote, but it turned out to be a cheap knockoff which lacked functionality. Stay away from New Remotes Inc in Florida!
