Best friends book
My friend and I read this book to each other on the beach in Tortola, BVI, including character voices. It was hilarious because this story is well-written and entertaining. At times endearing, other times humorous, it's a good read. This particular copy was in even better shape than I expected (and sans sand)!

Calico Palace another friend's recommendation
I read this book 40 years ago as a teenager based on a friend's recommendation. I found another copy a couple of years ago, and enjoyed the read so well, I loaned it to another friend. That copy was in pretty rough shape. I was so happy with this copy in very good condition, and am looking forward to reading it for the third time. The story flows so easily, the characters are intriguing, and the detail is compelling. Calico Palace will take you to California during the early days of settlement in America.
