Near Pro results on a budget, the backup camera that became the primary.
I purchased this as a backup camera. I began filming with a Nikon D7000 DSLR in a studio setting. I purchased a set of 5 filters for the M40. On the first shoot I wound up using the movie from the Canon M40 instead of the DSLR movie. The ability to set up the camcorder and use custom filters was important to me. The low light capabilities of the 'Pro" CMOS is another feature that was important to me. The Nikon will only record for 20 minutes per clip. Recording a training seminar with the Canon M40 does not have that restriction and until I get the DSLR movies figured out the Canon has the quality and versatility that I need. The built in microphone worked quite well indoors.Excellent quality, value priced.

HP Officejet PRO L7580 All in One
The primary GREAT thing about this printer is it allows me to print full-bleed 8.5 by 11" pages. I can mock up a brochure and print both sides at actual size. The 'trick' is to save or export the page layout file as an image (JPG or print quality PDF) and then select the full bleed (borderless) picture option. The colors are also very good at high resolution and the print speed is not bad, especially when repeating pages. The all-in-one features are handy as a fax and copier. I have a fairly high end scanner that I will continue to use, but it does take up space. The scan feature on the HP L7580 will definitely meet the needs of most small offices and save valuable space in the process. I have had no problems using this device.

NIkon D90 and VR IF lenses
Day one I had a project that had required a macro lens filter on my Sony A100. The D90 18-55MM lens focused perfectly without the filter. I was able to match the White Point to the 5500K lamps I was using. This was astounding to me and even more astonishing that I figured out how to use this option in the first place on "Day one". The D90 is not unique in permitting manual exposure control and depth of field management but after watching the included video training (71 minutes) I was taking images like the 'semi-pro' that I purport to be, and getting better shots. The movie taking ability is a good feature. As a webmaster, several of my clients have hired me to add brief You Tube videos to their websites, and for this purpose I believe this camera will now suffice very conveniently. HD 24fps with a 12.3 Megapixel CMOS should be more than adequate for additional movie projects as well. The 55-200mm VR IF lens delivers crystal clear images, even with a shaky old dude for a photographer. It is worth the upgrade expense. Some of my clients have a need for exceptional high resolution images that we use on poster sized projects. The ability to capture the image in RAW and jpeg simultaneously will handle that need. This ability does separate this camera from many of the others. The kit upgrade also included an iTTL flash accessory. It works great as it measures the foreground and ambient background lighting a whole lot better that I can do it. "Semi-pros" need all the help we can get and this camera and setup is a great help to bring us to the next level. Anybody want to buy a good used Sony A100? :)
