Type USB-C interface is not working with my MacBook

Very purpose of buying this is to make it work with my 2017 MacBook. I had to buy HP hub to connect my Mac via HDMI. I could add well buy 34" monitor. I wouldn't recommend this if you are particular about using USB C interface. It may be my Mac, double check if there is a compatibility issue
