Sharp, fast, superb value
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this lens to replace a Sigma 70-210 apo macro I have used ofr years but whose resolution was not up to higer resolution of my new D7100. I was a little wary of the this lens' plastic mount, but it is incredibly sharp, focus is the fastest of ANY nikon lens I have used, and the VR allow hand-holding even at 1/100 sec with the lens at 300mm. Outstanding!

A nice little lens
3 of 3 found this helpful The Nikon Nikkor 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5 AF Lens is a nice, compact, autofocus lens. It's small compared to the 2.8, and lighter, and does not have any zoom creep, as you turn the zoom ring instead of pushing/pulling. The lens is not quite as sharp as the 2.8 full open, but for the price and size, it's a very useful lens. It also has a macro range that allows for focusing to around 8" or so--not really close, but it makes the lens much more flexible. This particular lens is in excellent shape with no visible scratches dust or wear, and it appears to perform very well optically.
