Swapped out battery, perfect fit. OEM battery was dead but this one charges up fine and holds a charge. Just pay attention to the POS and NEG cables, red & black so you don't try to force the pin connector in the wrong way.

Keeps my old 20 yr. Vanguard running!
1 of 1 found this helpful Bolt on for my older OEM Briggs Vanguard 16hp v-twin, runs a Scag 48in mower. Easy to add on pressure gauge. Can be adapted to any Briggs Vanguard 16hp engine that didn't have one.
I'm currently using an over-voltaged 12v computer 3in. square mini cooling fan, with an accessory Black & Decker 20v battery on the Vanguard V-twin 16hp. See photo.
Oil cooler add-on keeps oil temps down to approx. 100 deg. C. max. operating temperature while oil pressure runs at about 25psi at 2500rpm. This has lowered oil operating temps 27 deg. F., depending on fan size and speed. Without an electric fan, temps reach approx 226-28 deg. F. under operating conditions. Every 20 deg. F. drop in oil temp can double oil life.
