The Pioneer Woman Cooks-Absolutely Love It!
2 of 2 found this helpful This cookbook is beautifully presented. In addition, it has such personality! Not the descriptive word you normally associate with a cookbook, I know. Okay, the recipes are great basic down home, cowboy-friendly, rich-in-family heritage recipes with wonderful 1,2,3 detailed steps and pictures to help you achieve outstanding results. But even more than that, I feel like I made a friend in this book. Ree Drummond combines her love of family, her deep admiration of ranch life, her considerable ability to "paint" an image with words, her cowgirl humor, her culinary skills and her dazzling talents as a photographer to capture this wonderful homespun country experience. I found my daughter-in-law's copy irresistable and had to have my own. It's more than a cookbook; it's a breath of country-fresh air. Incidentally I have the habit of marking the "must make" recipes in a newly purchased cookbook and I now have 29 post-its beckoning me to get cookin'. It's a winner!

Looks promising
This is a very inviting cookbook with clear instruction and with appetizing color photos of more than half of the recipes. I collect cookbooks and although I have not made anything yet from this cookbook, after my initial preview I have bookmarks for 17 dishes I intend to try. So that says something positive for first impressions, I guess. Overall impression of the book is good but, of course, the prove is in the "pudding".
