The best blackwork embroidery book for beginners & cross stitchers.
Out of all the blackwork embroidery books I've bought recently, this is the one one I would most recommend to any cross stitcher who is taking their first foray into the art of blackwork embroidery. It not only gives plenty of instructional guidance for beginners, it also has many different project patterns/projects suitable for all experience levels. As an avid cross stitcher, I myself have completed around 15-20 blackwork projects recently & was pleasantly surprised at how striking these projects look, despite being fairly quick to finish.
However, this art form is not just for cross stitchers like myself, so I would highly recommend this book not only to practitioners of other needle crafts who may want to expand their craft, but anyone interested in attempting a needle craft project for the first time. With the purchase of just a few items (fabric such as Aida or even weave; thread/floss, appropriate needles, & perhaps an embroidery hoop - all items which are covered in the book & can be found easily in craft stores &/or online - most items can be found worldwide on eBay), the instructions & patterns in this book will quickly have you addicted to the art of blackwork embroidery.
