Impossible to describe
This has always been my single favorite piece of music. Difficult to count how many different recordings I've been exposed to in the 55 or so years since I first heard it, but it has to be dozens. This SACD when played on some equipment capable of rendering it shoots right to the top. First off: I am *not* an audiophile in possession of tens of thousands of dollars of equipment. For this evaluation I had an Oppo 203 (? nomenclature? the numeral is correct) universal disc player from many years ago; a Marantz 8012 receiver from a similar number of years back; two SVS SB-1000 subs of the same time frame, which did not come on during play; and some new speakers - KEF R3 Metas at L/R on their bespoke stands, a KEF R2 Center at appropriate height, and 4 KEF T Series 301 speakers manning the side/rear soundstage. From the time it spun up, this recording was ALIVE throughout the room, placing me in the orchestra during play. Amazing. One can choose to let it wash over you or focus on individual instruments and sections; but it is thrilling. I wept! Now the only warning, and it is a *tiny* niggle, is that the need/desire for cannon will not be met, exactly, as in other recordings. Rather, and I am not totally sure, it sounds as if special persuasive effects are used, and sound like cannon and muskets? Awesome. I am still biased in that regard by the first Mercury recording I owned of this piece, with its booming and unmistakeable cannon. But that's it. I wept, man.

Great So Far
In a word: zippers! the zippers on this thing are great! If you ride, you know how important good zippers are, whether it's apparel or gear. This thing has the real deal. Don't know to say they're YKK or not (I mean, probably not?), but the work GREAT. This thing is loaded with outside access pockets made easy by great zippers & interior compartments. Waaaay better than I thought I was buying, so I'm stoked.

Pricey but worth it
I live in the blazing southern Arizona desert. This went on an RF-1200 and immediately extended its usability without having to carry and additional shield around for dusk/nighttime duty (I had been using the blue mirrored shield). It gets sufficiently dark, after a few minutes, to be able to safely operate and see well. Whether this will be of value to you in your operating environment and range of driving is variable. But it does seem to work (thankfully!).
