This small book is HUGE for its letters! A fabulous guide to a deeper life
I am currently a Benedictine Oblate candidate, and have been immersed in The Rule of Benedict itself along with other thoughtful sources that use the RB and offering food for thought (and some pretty creative techniques) for living the Benedictine life as a lay person. This book was recommended to me by my Oblate companion (a professed Oblate that takes the candidate under their wing.) What a marvellous book this is! It could be read, front to back, in a few hours, but it is more to be thoughtfully savored and integrated into daily life for a richer experience of life. If you are interested in living more consciously, more peacefully, more fully (not to mention more happily) in community, this little prize is a must-have.

Great modern and inclusive language, great price, tiny print
I purchased this version of the Bible specifically for the modern and inclusive language. There are plenty of pages at the end of each chapter for notes, etc. The print is very (VERY) small, though, so if you have vision issues, you might want to invest in the large print version (or a page magnifier.) The print is black, but a graphite black, not a sharp, crisp black ~ I would love a darker print. It's a great size, the elastic band is a nice alternative to bookmarks (and all those other bits and pieces of ephemera that we use to mark our places.) In short, I would recommend this in BIG print, in DARK black ink. The text speaks for itself.

A treat for the entire family
3 of 3 found this helpful I first saw the Wind in the Willows series on television in the UK 'way back in the mid-80's. It was such a charming and lovely interpretation of the marvellous books by Kenneth Grahame. All these years later, I decided to start putting together a collection of DVDs to share with my great-nieces and -nephews, but I have found that the adults are equally charmed by the stories and the musical score. I can't recommend these highly enough!
