Great choice for a cheap simple step counter
This is the second one I've bought since I lost the first one after using it for over a year and being extremely happy with it. It is exactly what I wanted: a cheap simple easy to use device just for steps and calories, since the only exercise I do is walking. I am not interested in all the bells and whistles like sleep monitoring that the more expensive devices do. I love the way the Omron distinguishes between steps and aerobic steps and bases the calories used only on the aerobic steps - so it doesn't count as exercise when you get up from the couch to go to the fridge. I checked its distance measure with a known distance and it was extremely accurate. Its estimate of calories and steps is lower and I believe more accurate than some of the other brands - walking with a friend who has a fitbit, her estimate of calories expended is ridiculously high while the Omron's is much more realistic. For anyone just wanting a simple step, distance and calorie counter for walking, I highly recommend this.
