Two of these tubes were installed in relatively small power Fender bass amp, and they made the old amp really come to life.

Audix i-5 mic is a Shure (57) thing

If you are looking for an alternative to the Shure SM-57, I can recommend the Audix i-5. The mics are very similar in size, and I like the performance of the Audix i-5 as much as the good ol' stand-by, the SM-57. This mic works well on for snare drums and also works nicely to put in front of a guitar amp. I haven't tried it for vocals but my guess is that it will do in a pinch. On the advice of a couple musician friends, I bought a couple of Audix i-5's to add to my audio bag of goodies. Overall, these are good mics for the price.

Consistently high readings from this unti

I'm not impressed with this unit. The machine kicks out readings that are consistently higher than other readings such as those taken at my doctor's office or generated by a sit-down blood pressure machine at a local clinic. For example, a doctor's office visit generated a blood pressure of 130/82. Just after the doctor's office visit, this blood pressure unit kicked out 140/110. These readings are not just a bit off, they are way off. Save your money and look for something more reliable.
