does the job. but should be constructed for higher quality. however is very light weight in application. depends on what your expecting or desire for lenshood.

Replacement Battery for Nikon EN-EL14( also as (a) or (Plus) )
if you had been looking for an inexpensive alternative to OEM nikon battery then here is your solution. works in my nikon camera with original factory firmware 100%.. does not display any issues of the battery or that the battery is not proper kind as has been seen to happen with some non oem replacements.. battery works the same as nikon to substitute original with cheaper replacement.. replacement is rated at 1500mah which is basicaly 1.5x original.. preformance varies with how camera is used under different circumstances. this is typical of any battery. this review is not to say the battery is better because it has a higher ma/h rating. this is a different battery that is manufactured to work with nikon product. the battery works with the nikon product. it is not the nikon oem battery. it is a battery that does work in the nikon device. another question is 'is the battery decoded' the device sees the battery same as the original and does not display for of error saying a non standard battery has been installed or one of another manufacture.. the technical way to describe this battery is that it is an enhansed clone of the factory original that will work as good or better as the original for less price to replace than OEM replacement. ( they call this a decoded battery suitable for oem replacement or substitute ) i am happy with this battery. it was 12$.. at the local photo store a oem battery which is rated about 500mah less is 60$ cdn local.. you can buy 4 for the price of one. then from a 'battery store' you can buy one for 30$ so then its a 2 for one deal.. or you can buy from the other side of the world wait 3 weeks and get it for half price. in this world we need two things.. a good deal and often more power. if you need any batteries suitable for your nikon product. fear not. they are 1/4 the price of the oem. nothing is better than the oem thats true in many ways. but trust me. this battery will get you out of a jam. 12$ for a spare battery. try one for yourself. you will be happy with your purchase. just like myself. so this is happy customer. man who saves money and has spare battery for camera is happy. bottom line. how does it compare to original.. is it the same or is it different. try it. its your choice. its your decision. its your observation. i have two battery. i have no complaint of the product.
