Le Creuset Stove-top 2.1litre kettle: gorgeous kettle, but not for everyone
I purchased this kettle for my daughter, who loves the country look and atmosphere of a stove-top kettle. This is her last chance, as she has a history of putting on the kettle and either forgetting about it and heading into the garden, or falling asleep late at night, waiting for it to boil. She has boiled dry and ruined TWO kettles, the second being my own Le Creuset, same model. I have warned her: Three strikes and you're out, or you buy your own next time. It is so important to be aware that the kettle is busy heating up and will be ready when it whistles! They do not like being boiled dry for several hours and will become damaged.
WARNING: The potential fire risk of leaving a heating element or gas burner on unattended for an extended period, such as overnight, has also crossed my mind on two occasions!
However, a real plus for this NEW kettle is that the whistle has been hugely improved since I purchased mine several years ago. Now it confidently sounds the alarm, and is hard to miss, unlike the gentle wheezes the other well known brand and my old Le Creuset granite kettle produced.
The new Coastal Blue colour is really pretty, the toning much less dramatic than seen in photos. The kettle is a great size for a couple of cupsful or a teapot, and from the long ownership I enjoyed of my own, I can confidently say that it is a durable and enduring item.
Boiling your kettle on the stovetop does take longer than plugging it into a wall socket, and this needs to be factored in to when you actually want your cup or pot of tea to be ready. This might be considered a negative unless you enjoy the ritual involved in tea preparation, to which this certainly adds a lovely element, including the importance of remembering to lower the whistle over the spout, or it will NOT notify you that the kettle is ready, and boiling dry will happen more quickly!
I love these kettles, and am planning to purchase another one for myself, as soon as I have decided on my colour. It is not a kettle for the busy person who rushes through meals and needs a quick cuppa on the way out the door, but rather for the person who has the time to enjoy being in the kitchen.
POSITIVES:- Good size, easy to clean, looks great, will last for years if cared for. Comes with a 5-year warranty.
NEGATIVES:-
It takes longer to boil than an electric kettle.
The user needs to remember that the kettle is on and needs to be turned off when ready.
These would apply to any stove-top kettle and if deciding to purchase one, the Le Creuset would be a great choice.

Super lip treatment which looks good and moisturizes so well.
1 of 1 found this helpful I am a regular Lancome user, and use the Absolue range of skin care products. So I regularly search ebay for stuff, and this came up - seemed like it was worth giving it a try. The Lip color I purchased is La Base, ie it is not pigmented. I have ongoing trouble trying to keep my lips from cracking in the dry climate where I live. This lipstick is very moist, creamy, and I just love using it for a natural look that also protects my lips from drying. I carry it in my purse and can use it with whatever I am wearing.
The downside? - it is very soft, and I had to replace the first one I purchased after I left my purse in the car one day and the whole lipstick turned into a puddle. Most lipsticks don't do that. You need to make sure it is maintained at reasonably cool conditions. The fact that I did replace it speaks for itself, it is a great lipstick. Works better for me than the Juicy Tubes, on which I depended for so long to try and keep my lips from fraying at the edges.
I do not know if the texture and moisturizing effect is the same in the coloured L'Absolue Rouge Lip Color. Would like to try it out sometime. If the retail stores where I live stocked the L'Absolu range of lip colors that would be great - I could find a colour I like and then search ebay to purchase it.

Nordic Ware Original Bundt Cake pan
Bring your cake to the party and stand back and expect the Ooohs and Aaahs! With the right recipe these turn out brilliant cakes, cooked to a tee on the outside, and with the hollow centre generally evenly cooked throughout.
However I have tried my usual cake recipes in this tin and met with rather dismal failures, so in future will be Buying the Book and using Bundt recipes only.
A great baking adventure is there for the taking.
