Almost there.
Lovely looking loco, as with all Athearn Genesis models. Why they do not go all the way and include metal handrails instead of the horrible plastic ones I do not know. I have bought ten of these over the last few years, and with only two exceptions there have been plastic parts floating in the box when it arrives. Easy to fix, but that is not the point. With the price of these now, I do not expect too many people would be upset by a small increase in price to have metal handrails. They could always make models with plastic handrails and models with metal ones. The buyer could then make their choice. Or, better still, make metal replacement handrails sets available. None of this detracts from the ease of use and reliability. Overall very satisfied.

Excellent product overall that saves a lot of time and effort.
Easy to use and a good quality product for someone who does not like, or can't be bothered, (Me) to get involved with intricate wiring and soldering, and it is not cheap. It does what it says on the tin but it does (for me) have its difficulties for ease of use. The dimmer controls are very small and not easy to grab unless you have thin fingers or you hold the dimmers side on instead of head on which is not easy if, like me, you set them into a control panel. The three that I have all have dimmers that are a little stiff to use. The knobs have a groove in them so I use a small screwdriver to make adjustments. Not such a problem if you want to set the dimness once and then leave it, but if you want to constantly adjust the brightness of the lights then it is a little tricky and can be irritating. I asked Woodland Scenics if the user can buy a larger control handle to fit over the existing ones to make this action easier, They were easy to talk to and very approachable and helpful, and they told me that this should not be necessary since the dimmer controls should be very easy to use and not difficult to turn. All I can say is that I bought three units and they are all stiffer than I would like. Extension leads are only 4ft long and expensive, so if your buildings are some way from the control panel it is cheaper to use your own wiring.

Noch 21514 hedge.
This hedge is very effective, and looks really good when installed. Perhaps more suitable as a garden hedge rather than a hedgerow as It is very consistent in height and width. If you are looking for a hedge that is a little more like the rough looking ones you would find in the country maybe not for you. I used it as a perimeter on my layout and found that it is very difficult to straighten out. It comes curly in the bag and stays like that when you take it out. I wanted it to be straight, and had problems getting it to co-operate and, therefore, quite difficult to place in a few hard to reach straight places I wanted it to go. Overall very pleased.
