Entertaining But Unrealistic
I've watched all 5 seasons of this show and the plots have gotten more outlandish and unrealistic as it went along. I could write a book about all the nonsense in season 5, but I'll limit myself to two examples.
Example 1: It's election night; After midnight Underwood calls his opponent to concede. Then they halt voting in Tennessee and Ohio because of some contrived terrorist threat. Since when are the polls anywhere still open at midnight?
Example 2: Underwood leaks damning info to get himself ousted from office because he had "an epiphany" while at Elysium Fields (really Bohemian Grove) that the real power lies outside of office. Well yeah, but only if you have a few billion dollars which he doesn't. It's just so ridiculous!
