  Beautiful stone. No apparent fault lines. The play of colour is outstanding and apparently random through the stone, rather than with strong localizations, regularity, or columnar layout, and therefore strongly suggestive of real opal rather than synthetic opal. I am not an expert, but with a chemistry major in my knowledge background, I have been doing a fair bit of learning about gems over the last couple of years, and this seems to me to be outstanding value-for-money for real welo opal.
