Civil War Virginia: Battleground for a Nation
    Jul 23, 2016
Civil War Virginia is a good 30,000 foot view of the Civil War in Virginia.
I am about 2/3 of the way through Civil War Virginia. It is an easy read as it provides a very high level view of the "who" and "where" of happenings in Virginia. Whole tomes have been written about many of the battles mentioned, so details are not a big part of this small book. However, with previous knowledge or a desire to learn more about the battles and personalities involved, this is a nice starter book.
The old man;: John Brown at Harper's Ferry
    Jul 23, 2016
The Old Man: John Brown at Harper's Ferry is one of the best books I have read about John Brown and the Harper's Ferry raid!!
As an admirer of John Brown, I have to say that the book The Old Man: John Brown at Harper's Ferry is a much fairer assessment of John Brown; the man, his motivation, his character, and what drove him to make such a bold move in his attempts to free as many slaves as possible. He clearly was not a terrorist as one book I have describes him. Rather, John Brown was a man of strong convictions and beliefs and he acted against the institution of slavery which he saw as a sin. This book is a definite keeper in my library and I will purchase more for my dad and granddaughter who recently shared with me the remarkable Harper's Ferry experience.
Rough Rider Moon Glow in the Dark Lockback Trapper Pocket Knife RR1515 2 Blades
    Aug 12, 2017
    Very sturdy and sharp
My hubby and I had to remove the back door for a large delivery, and had to cut through the generous amounts of caulk that he had used in the past to put the door back in place. Anyway, while he was struggling with a box cutter and screwdriver, I whipped out my new Rough Rider Moon Glow in the Dark knife and sliced through the caulk like it was literally butter!! This is one of my favorite knives in my collection!
