Not what they use to be
I expected these two pickups to be like the other N Scale Mini Metals vehicles I purchased in the past. Made with some metal, but these are all painted plastic. The quality is bad. The tire are a good example. Paint is awful. Adding the attachment were not seating. I had to modify and use glue. I was disappointed.

Always content with MTL products
This is an older N Scale model that is very good for its production time and today's standards. If I was to add more detail, it would be to add some separately applied parts as opposed to molded in. For Example, ladder rungs. Remember this is 1:160 and would be hard to see for some eyes. The colors, portions, and decals are very good. Using magnification I can see the rivets and read the labels. I am more of a collector so at this point the models remain in their sealed package. I have not put them into action, but I have many Micro Train Lines and they preform well.

Another good Micro Train freight car
1 of 1 found this helpful I've had N Scale Trains since the late sixties. I've had Micro Trains Line products since the early 1990's. The detail, quality and performance of these models are the one of the best. This model runs well, couples and uncouples reliably. The detail is very good. Paint, decals, plastic molding, separate applies parts, and operating door is very good, taken from the prototype (real box car) specs. It all proportional. As with any model you can have more detail, but the size 1:160 would make it fragile and hard to see. For example, the printing is so tiny, I can only read it with a good magnify glass. Most of my freight and passenger cars are made by MTL. You can't go wrong.
