LEGO Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R 42107

Fun to build, cool new pieces.

If you like motorcycles and functionality it's a good set. That Lego set designers managed to fit a 2 speed gearbox activated by a lever in the same spot as on the real bike is impressive. As far as looks, it does somewhat capture the profile of the real V4R from some angles, though from others it looks a little bloated or a bit plain (no transparent red parts for the tail light?). I understand for the former it's to make room for the functionality, though 5 or 6 more pieces to represent the tail light would have been nice. The new elements for the front suspension and brake discs are also good news for MOC builders, especially those focusing on motorcycles. All up, a pretty good set.

Tamiya 1/12 Honda CB750F T14006 Brand New

Good kit

This is one of Tamiya's older motorcycle kits and is a little simplified compared to their other offerings. This is a good thing however as it keeps the price low while still retaining that signature Tamiya quality and detail which makes it a good starting point for beginners to model building. Decals allow for several paint schemes to suit personal tastes which is a nice touch. My only issue with the kit is the presence of flashing, small imperfections mostly caused by wear to the tooling over time. These imperfections are easily fixed on most parts with a sharp hobby knife or sandpaper, though doing this to the chromed pieces may damage the finish. Overall a good kit of a classic bike.

Very helpful tools as a modeller

I got sick of using pliers over time to get the valve gear off of my model locomotives. It burrs the edges of the tiny bolts and makes them harder to use the next time I need to put them on or take them off. Having these made a big difference, its a lot easier to get the bolts off without damaging them or the rest of the loco. Very handy to have for those who model steam era railways.
