Samsung 16GB 4X4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz 240pin Dimm AMD Cpu motherboad Memory

Brings life to aging AM2 and AM2+ Processors.

This memory does a good job at bringing an older AMD CPU into the more modern era and gives it a little more life. Gives enough memory to be able to run Windows 10 smoothly on an AMD X2 5600+ as well as the earlier AMD quad core processors. You may have to run the memory at 667 MHz if you are running 16GB like I am. The timings can also be tightened down a little to 5-5-5-15 and still be stable at rated voltage. It's a good purchase but may not work with all AMD CPUs or motherboards. For those that dont know this, AM3 CPUs are backwards compatible with the AM2+ socket. I have an old MSI 785G motherboard that now has 16GB of this ram and is running a Phenom II X4 955 which made the system WORLDS faster.

Still a beast of a CPU.

I am surprised at how strong this CPU still is compared to modern CPUs. I use this for encoding and data crunching and it still turns out amazing performance. Only problem is not with the CPU but with the people that still think socket 1366 motherboards are worth 300 dollars... All in all, if you can find a board that supports it for a reasonable price and can live without some modern features then this CPU will surprise you with how well it performs. Make sure to get good quality ram as well as a cooler to help this CPU shine.
