Kindle Fire HDX vs. New Fire
4 of 4 found this helpful Bought for five year old granddaughter. The 3rd generation Kindle Fire is far superior in quality than the new Fire models. Do a comparison yourself and you will see what I'm talking about. Processor speed, pixels, and everything including construction is much better than today's models. I bought a brand new Fire HD 8 for her originally, it lasted only a couple months before it broke. She had been using my Kindle Fire HDX 7 for years (when she came to visit) without an issue and it's still running strong. I bought her this used one (Like new) so she can take it home with her. They just seem indestructible to me. Of course I added extra protection with an otterbox, but the new HD8 that she had also had a protective case and it broke anyway.
