A Very Good Weather Station
We've had our Ambient Weather WE-2902A Weather Station up for a month.
When I setup the weather station I followed the directions as written and the two units and they found each other immediately. After the two units starting communicating, I took the weather station outside to see how good the transmitter was. Wow, our weather station is 250 feet away from the home unit and the signal strength indicator is usually showing full strength (four bars). There is only one large window between the two units. Adjusting the home unit date, time, pressure, etc was quick and easy. I was very impressed with the ease of setup.
My wife and I are both avid weather geeks and we have been comparing the data from the weather station to our local airports official observations and we're pleased how close the two sets of data are. Much better data than our old LaCrosse weather station gave us.
The only problem we have had was during a three day period of -15C temperatures and calm wind. The weather station became so covered in hoar frost that the wind direction indicator and the anemometer couldn't move when the wind came up. I lowered the telescopic mast that the weather station is mounted on, cleaned the solar panel and wind instruments and everything went back to normal.
We are not putting our weather data online yet but plan to do so soon.
