Great drive for the money, mostly well built, suits my usage perfectly.
After looking at some reviews and some dismantling videos to see the insides, this drive looked the best for the most reasonable price. The green silicone you see on the outside goes all the way in to where the drive is. Other drives are just silicone on the outside and the drive mounted to the plastic case. Google a review on the Xtreme Systems forum or any other teardown.
The catch is this drive is not waterproof like some of the others, I don't remember if it is even dust-proof, but surely better than a plain portable HDD. The USB cover flap is probably the worst part of the drive. It is a poor fit and could have been made a lot better.
Otherwise the USB cable is fairly short and only fairly flexible (not premium). I have ordered a 0.5m cable for my situation so the drive sits somewhere safer. The cable was too short for my PC and USB ports, so it hold the drive up at a slight angle and not flat.
The drive also has a removable USB-sata header, meaning that if that fails, you should be able to plug the drive directly into a sata port and have it work again.
Performance is to be expected for a 2.5" 5400rpm drive - 110MB/s empty to about 50MB/s full. I purchased the 2TB drive which included a WD 15mm WD20NPVZ-00WFZT0

One of the best options for MLC MicroSD in Australia for Dash Cam use.
One of the only MLC based MicroSD's available in Australia for a reasonable price with a warranty which is valid for use in Dash Cams. I contacted Verbatim to confirm. Also has excellent read speed of around 90MB/s which makes a big difference copying footage to PC. Make sure you have a decent USB3 SD reader to reach full speeds.
Going for 64GB instead of 32GB means double the expected lifetime of writes (since the camera has double the space to continuously overwrite, it works out to half the lifetime writes per sector compared to 32GB). I've been using it for about a month now with no problems at all. My dash cam required fat32 formatting as it doesn't support SDXC. All of the footage so far looks fine and no dash cam errors at all.

FALSE ADVERTISING AND LIES! Not 100% pure OFC copper, cheap bi-metal instead! Different packaging than the description as well
1 of 1 found this helpful Very disappointing after all of the claims of being the best and not to buy cheap inferior products - yet that's EXACTLY what they're selling!!! What's worse is that they're dishonest while they're at it. Avoid like the plague. I wouldn't even buy it, even if you were after cheap bi-metal speaker cable, if they're dishonest in the first place, then you'll probably end up with wires that are broken halfway along the lengths leading to all sorts of issues in the future!
Tested wire upon arrival with the "flame test" - look it up on youtube, and never buy cheap problematic cable again.
