A smartphone cage can be better that a case.
As a "cage" it offers benefits not provided by smartphone cases. Thanks to the handles, holding the phone steady is easier. It also offers ways to attach various devices such as an external microphone for interviewing while standing.
In short it is well worth the cost, particularly in comparison to the $30 or so many cases cost. And because this is a universal cage, it can be used with almost any smartphone.

Works with the Kenwood Th-F6a
Apparently Baofeng copied the mike/speaker arrangement of Kenwood radios because this works fine with my Kenwood TH-F6a. Compact and looks good too. The speaker/earphone jack on the Kenwood is a hard to find 2.5 mm jack. This mike/speaker converts than into common 3.5 mm one.

Great for DC power.
Anderson poles are great for 12-volt DC connections. I was happy to get these at a good rpice.
