Problem with HP

The hard drive works ok, but HP has embedded a code that prevents you from replacing either the motherboard or the hard drive. They must match or you get blocked from using by a "Code Purple" error message. Google that before you try to replace either the HD or Motherboard. I tried all the fixes with no success.
